There would have been no 'beating' or murder if Zimmerman had not chased Trayvon down and confronted him. I'm sorry, you can't start a fight, then when the other guy swings back, claim self-defense and Zimmerman is the one who started the trouble, even if, by some chance, he didn't throw the first punch.
